چکیده
Abstract Background Blood culture tests are crucial for identifying microorganisms causing sepsis and planning targeted antimicrobial therapy based on susceptibility results. However, the traditional testing method has remained unchanged last 60 years, resulting in a delay of approximately four days final This contributes to increased resistance, broad-spectrum use healthcare costs. project aims reduce time taken Methods An initial pilot study trial 100 samples with new system will be conducted, followed by qualitative quantitative evaluation strategy, keeping existing as gold standard. The scope was defined avoid creep, detailed SWOT analysis conducted identify best equipment available market. Interventions A process map created, fish bone (Ishikawa) problem done key issues potential bottlenecks. robust stakeholder been planned, GANTT chart prepared. Implementing effective communication, leadership nudge theory can engage stakeholders mitigate risks. cost-benefit predicted cost savings nearly million pounds within one hospital seven Trust. Conclusions introduction laboratory blood turnaround results significantly less than 24 h, leading early diagnosis treatment therapy. initiative also counters various problems, including proposal is an important step towards improving timeliness Organizations like NHS must seek improve continuously long-term effectiveness, this such change that reap many benefits.
